Not having used this stuff before, I have a few questions for our resident experts about using this with hard-to-germinate drosera and perennial byblis seeds.

1. What is the best form in which to buy it? I've seen 5 g 90% pure GA3 powder on eBay for about $A10, but some claim to be water-soluble, others to be soluble in 70% isopropyl alcohol. I'm assuming water-soluble is best for CP seeds - or is it?

2. What concentration is recommended? I've seen numbers ranging from 1 ppm to 70 ppm or higher. Obviously this would make a big difference to the efficacy of the compound.

3. What is the best way to treat seeds - overnight soaking in a solution (either water or isopropanol)? Longer? Shorter?

4. Presumably this stuff is not something you want to ingest - are there any specific handling precautions you need to take? Is it straightforward to import or are there local distributors?

Yes I know I could google it, but I've found lots of contradictory information and I'd like to hear from people who have actually done it

1. Use water soluable

2. use it at the high end. I really don't measure it! but I use roughly 1ml / litre

3. 24 hour soak

4. Get it local. Don't drink it but you don't need a space suit to handle it either.

Best of luck! oh, and thanks for the reminder. I have loads of stuff to treat.

Thanks for the information, Greg. Can you recommend any local distributors? Google isn't being much help unfortunately...
