Hi everyone,
I just thought I'd post this because I'm excited that my first ever nepenthes from seed (I've failed at a few batches of seed in the past) has grown a pitcher - two almost microscopic ones at that! Hopefully I can keep these alive until they become larger, it's basically my goal for the year
These were sown 25/11/09 but germination was only early this year I believe.
If anyone could give me any pointers on keeping these tiny things alive I'd much appreciate it!

Getting pretty speckly now, almost all of them have quite a few dark dots on the pitchers and some on the leaves even :D

Nice work, keep it up. I've sown nepenthes seeds earlier this year but they haven't grown pitchers yet.

Thanks Alex! Yeah I'm not sure why these seem to be growing so well.. I think they're liking the cooler weather now that winter is coming.
I've updated the original post with 2 new photos, they've all grown a bit and most of them have got a couple of pitchers now. I've had to cut back the sphagnum with tiny scissors though because its been covering a few seedlings and they haven't been getting enough light.

If you zoom in enough on the newest photos, I almost think I saw some tiny dark spots on the lids of a few of the pitchers, but its probably just my eyes playing tricks on me

Nice pics there. And nope, your eyes don't deceive you. I can see black dots myself. I'll post up some pics of my seed grown Nepenthes soon. Keep up the good work. =]

I just had a look at your photos and I can see a few that have germinated :) How old are they? I had some maxima seeds but they got attacked by a fungal infection and didn't last too long.

As for posting pics, I had to upload mine to an external site and then link them here. You could link to the photo in the gallery though, that would work.
