Good work
Wat Neps are they?
I wonder how it works, do you just dip a cutting in the gel and a new plant grows?

Hi Robert,

By the look of your pictures, you are doing very well.
The cultures look very clean and good growth.

Are you using a Laminar Flow cabinet ?

I used to do tissue culture some time ago with shelving and lights on timers taking up most of the second bedroom. But the kids came along and it all went eventually.

Now number 1 son has left home I have started my plant collection again and was considering putting some seed into culture. Mainly because the quantity of seed I have for the sundew is small and want it to have the best chance of growing.

Where does one buy tubes, agar, nutrients etc. these days?

Laurence

Hi Laurence
Sorry it has taken so long to reply.
no i dont use a Laminar Flow cabinet i have a home made glove box would love a laminar cabinet just a bit out of my price range at the moment.
I use Austratec for most of my cemicals but they sell everything you will need their postage cost can be a bit high.
they have a web site www.austratec.com.au
or email them and ask for their price list: sales@austratec.com.au
I buy all of my containers apart from the tubes from floralaboratories- http://home.alphalink.com.au/~andre/laboratorysupplies.htm
they are a lot cheaper at flora but only a limited range
let me know if you need any more help
