Hi All,
What a lovely day. Thanks to Kirk Hirsch and Robert Gibson for having the meet at their place this year. They had a jumping castle for the children and plenty of refreshments for everyone as it was a hot day. We were lucky to be shaded by the house and lovely trees in a bush setting. WELL DONE and THANK YOU. Grand Champion was won by Greg Bourke with a beutiful N. ventricosa red x lowii, 2nd was Jessica Biddlecombe with a nice bowl of small Darlingtonia. Pitcher by Volume was won by Greg Bourke with a N. sibuyensis x truncata (510mls), 2nd was N. sanguinea pitcher from Gordon Hanna (500mls), much hasseling over that one!!! Pinguicula was won by Kirk Hirsch with a large P. gigantia. Tallest Sarracenia won by Gordon Hanna S. flava x Oreophylla (95mms), Reddest Plant went to Gordon Hanna with S. alata x flava (a beauty). Cephalotus went to Ron Gauci. Darlingtonia won by Jessica Biddlecombe. Nepenthes Species won by Terry Nicholls with a beautiful N.lowii, Nepenthes Hybrid won by Jessica Biddlecombe with N. X Khasiana. Sarracenia Species was won by Gordon Hanna with S. rubra Corpora. Sarracenia Hybrid was won by Gordon Hanna with S. flava x alata Best Drosera was won by Greg Bourke with D. binata. Best Venus Fly Trap was won by Terry Nicholls. Best group planting won by Kirk Hirsch, 2nd was won by Greg Bourke. Best Utricularia was won by Greg with U. cornuta and the New Member was won by Terry Nicholls with N. maxima. Greg won the plant look alike with a funny mixture of plants (and a weed) with roots hanging out of the pot. THANKS TO STEWART McPHERSON for judgeing. Hot House Raffle was won by Robert Pollett and the Year Membership was won by Laurie Dorfer (it pays to bring plants to meetings and shows). Thank you to all who attended and if I don't see you at the December meeting I will see you in the New Year. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.
